這一段時間我一直想試試看內建的WebCAM功能，無奈市面上可相容的webcam少之又少，家裡原本有一台也不支援。據了解原廠內建webcam支援的晶片只有三種：SAA8115HL、SAA811HL、OV511 OV511+ CCD chipset，而符合這些規格的大都已經在市面上找不到了，只能上網拍找看看二手的。

前幾天有報馬仔提供線報，說某家市售的webcam所使用的晶片疑似OV511系列，不妨試試。事不遲疑，就給他訂下去，24hr快速到貨效率果真快，凌晨下的單，下午就送到手上。

回到家後迫不及待拿來測試一下，嗯..還是得花了一番功夫才測出結果。
接上去之後，看system log：

好像並不是完全相容的樣子

我發現這一台無法使用設定參數ActiveX模式，只能使用Refresh模式，所以設定如下：

先看一下畫面吧：

上班時拿來遠端監控家裡的主機燈號或是監看太陽能風扇是否有正常運轉，還不賴啦。

有時也可以當做家人的傳聲筒，例如老婆叫你回家吃晚餐..


或是小孩想對你說的話

這樣可以省下不少電話或簡訊費用吧

WL-HDD接上webcam可以有很多玩法，再搭配一台無線基地台可以拿來當無線webcam來使用，拿來遠端監看家裡主機或監看住家四周環境當保全使用應該都算是超值的組合。

不建議買這一台，因為ASUS WL-500/WL-HDD系列對WebCAM的支援寫得不好，我測過效果最好的是Logitech QuickCam pro 4000，不僅相容性良好，畫質也非常清晰，可以參考底下這幾篇文章：
